Lemon balm (Melissa officinalis) is a calming herb from the mint family that inhibits GABA transaminase, effectively increasing GABA levels in the brain. It also has mild antiviral properties (particularly against herpes simplex) and is one of the gentlest herbal anxiolytics, suitable for both adults and children.
